Its nice to see a new supplier of fuels and whats more these are Made in the UK as well, especially with the current supply problems with other imported US brands, I can see these guys being busy this summer.
New Fuel Available in UK from 25th July 2008.
Process Measurement & Analysis Ltd are launching a new
Nitromethane based model fuel at the 3D Master Helicopter event on the
25th July and will have a Sponsored Master Pilot demonstrating the fuel
in an Avro Blitz model Helicopter.
 The fuel range will be Optimix 5, 12 and 20 these are all 18% fully
synthetic oil with 5,12 and 20% nitromethane content.
There is also an
Optimix 30 with 30% nitromethane and 20% fully synthetic oil and an
Optimix 4-Stroke 20 with 20% nitromethane and 20% synthetic oil. In
September a low smoke FAI fuel will also be available.

 Well the UK's largest scale electric heli went for its first flight this weekend, even though it was a little breezy. See the video as well.
The controls need to be calmed a little, if you watch you can see when I move my fingers a little too far!!
Sounded well and the strobes stand out even in the bright conditions. Hovers at 40Amp according to the EagleTree FDR. Calculating flight times at around 20mins. Pictured right is me and the EC, next to my Trex600n for size comparison.
This was just part of 8.5mins flight.

 Super Fly Model Lie Bro (Bell 222/Air Wolf Style), Fuselage length: 170mm, Rotor diameter: 174mm
The Super Fly Model Lie Bro features a super scale like body that, unlike the many other micro helicopters is made of tough yet lightweight plastic - not foam. This construction allows the body to be well detailed even down to the missiles and exhaust outlets. The model also features a bright LED light in the nose.
The flight characteristics of the Lie Bro are superb. The contra rotating head provides excellent stability with the horizontal tail rotor providing the tilting action for forward flight. So forward and reverse flight is capable, the contra rotaing blades allow you to turn left and right, so it is very controllable for this type of model.
The model is controlled by a twin stick infra red wide range transmitter so you dont need to point the TX at the model as with previous types, it also doubles as a charger for the model.

 NEW X-TREME 90 - First in the UK - and it is "not just another 90 class helicopter" - this one is something special!
This pre-production confirmation model was built by Richard Budd in just two evenings (no instructions are printed yet)and he reported everything fitted perfectly and gave no problems whatsover.
Fitted with a new OS 90 Hyper engine and all the radio gear ready to fly this super extreme 3D helicopter weighed-in at just 4.2 kilograms! The power to weight ratio of this model will be devastating, and the fully programable head continues to lead the way against other less extreme rivals.

3DX Championships This year were a sponsor of the 3D Championship 2008 which will be held on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st
September 2008 with a fun-fly on Friday 19th for everyone to come along
and fly or watch. Plus I get to have my trade stand there as well.... ! See you there.
There will also be a night flying competition
held on the Saturday night so get out your glow rope and night blades
and get practicing!
There is an entrance fee of just £2 per adult this year - children come in free when accompanied by a paying adult!
The venue is Croft Farm Waterpark (view their website here)
in the River Avon valley. It has some excellent facilities for the
whole family, including watersports, a fitness centre with gym, sauna
and sunbeds, a licensed clubhouse (a bar!) and walking/sight seeing in
the surrounding area of Tewkesbury. Plenty more details on their
website - bring your family and make a weekend of it!
The facilities also include toilet and shower blocks (free to use) along with electric hookups for those needing them.
Camping and caravan charges are available on their website.
We have also arranged for cooked breakfasts to be available from 8AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

are with a BMFA approved Club Instructor via buddy lead with our own heli (IC) - or your own heli set onto
our buddy lead system if you wish - these are at our local flying site.
Dont suffer on your own...
We can book lessons from 10.00am - 1.00pm and from 2.30pm till
Dusk - during BST this will be as late as 8.30pm but on Monday -
Friday's only, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 noon till 5pm.
Buy as many hours as you think at a time then we will book the dates with you later on the phone as you wish....
Even if your only flying a Trex450 you will benefit from a lesson and it may save you money in the long run... A complete novice will normally be able to hover, land and take-off safely with 10 - 1 hour lessons without having a crash, and what does the average crash cost!!!
So hopefully this summer I'll introduce some new pilots to the world of helis.
